BYD Yuan Plus (Atto 2) Third Generation Goes on Sale May 21 With Second-Gen Blade Battery and Flash Charging
As reported by Autohome CN, BYD has confirmed that the third-generation Yuan Plus — sold internationally as the Atto 2 — will officially go on sale in China on May 21, 2026. The model made its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show earlier this year and arrives with a meaningful update to its powertrain, technology stack, and interior layout.

Exterior Design
The new Yuan Plus retains the family’s signature aesthetic but gets refined details. Six color options are available: Line Gray, Cyan, Space White, Dream Pink (two-tone), Trendy Blue (two-tone), and Aura Green (two-tone). The front fascia features narrow, elongated headlight clusters flanking a central chrome strip that spans the full width of the nose. On the flanks, semi-hidden door handles keep the profile clean, while the D-pillar panel can be optionally finished in contrasting colors to match the dual-tone exterior themes.

Body dimensions come in at 4,665 mm long, 1,895 mm wide, and 1,675 mm tall, with a 2,770 mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose between 18-inch and 19-inch wheel options. At the rear, a two-section high-mounted brake light sits above a full-width tail lamp panel with a flowing, streamlined light signature when illuminated.

Interior and Technology
Inside, the center console has been redesigned around a larger infotainment touchscreen. The shift-by-wire stalk has replaced the conventional gear selector, freeing up console space for a wireless charging pad while retaining select physical controls. Speaker count has increased, the air vents retain their customizable design, and BYD’s latest Dynasty-series steering wheel is standard. Ambient lighting rounds out the cabin updates.

Powertrain
The Yuan Plus rides on a rear-wheel-drive pure electric platform with two motor output choices: 200 kW (268 hp) or 240 kW (322 hp). Both versions are paired with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and support flash charging technology. CLTC range is rated at 630 km (~391 miles). The vehicle also receives BYD’s Cloud Nje-C (Yunzhen-C) intelligent body control system as standard.
