BYD Han Flagship Sedan Officially Teased Ahead of Q3 2026 Launch
BYD has officially released spy shots of its upcoming flagship large sedan, the Han, confirming the model will join the Dang Dynasty lineup alongside the Tang to form what the automaker calls its “Dynasty Nine Series” premium range. The Han is expected to go on sale during Q3 2026.
Two configurations have been revealed so far: an 800 km four-wheel-drive variant with LiDAR, positioned as the flagship trim, and a rear-wheel-drive 1,008 km range variant with LiDAR, serving as the top-spec luxury edition.

Design: Dragon Face Gets Sharper
The exterior adopts BYD’s latest-generation “Dragon Face” family design language, mirroring the styling already introduced on the Tang. The front fascia features narrow, elongated lighting units connected by a sweeping trim strip, with aggressive lower air intakes flanking the bumper. A LiDAR unit sits integrated into the roofline — almost certainly tied to BYD’s latest Eye of God B (天神之眼B) advanced driver assistance system with LiDAR, paired with the Eye of God 5.0 software platform.

The Han’s proportions lean into a long-hood, fastback-coupe silhouette. Despite its substantial footprint — projected at close to 5.3 meters in length with a wheelbase likely exceeding 3.1 meters — the design avoids feeling heavy. The body sits low, the roofline flows cleanly into a raised trailing edge, and the rear adopts a minimalist approach with a wraparound light bar echoing the front.
Optional two-tone paint and body-color brake calipers are expected to be available, reinforcing the tech-luxury positioning typical of a D-segment flagship.
Interior and Technology
The interior layout closely parallels the Tang’s cabin, with a shared steering wheel design visible in spy shots. The Han will offer both plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery-electric (BEV) powertrain options. BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology are confirmed for the BEV variants, delivering either 800 km or 1,008 km of range (CLTC).

Additional features expected to make the cut include BYD’s DiSus (云辇) intelligent suspension system and rear-wheel steering — both appropriate for a vehicle competing at this level.
