A new player has entered China’s crowded EV market — and it’s putting artificial intelligence at the center of everything. Saidou Technology (赛豆科技) officially announced its new brand name AIVA on June 9, 2026, positioning it as a car that can “perceive, think, and empathize.” The brand launch event took place the same evening at 19:00, accompanied by the first official teaser image of its debut model.

What Is AIVA?

AIVA is described not just as a vehicle brand but as “a new life form” — an AI-defined automotive companion. The brand’s core promise is deep integration of artificial intelligence into every aspect of the driving and ownership experience, from voice interaction to emotional awareness.

The first teaser reveals a sporty rear end with a large spoiler, a blue illuminated driver-assistance light strip running across the back, and the AIVA badge prominently displayed. The overall silhouette suggests a crossover body style.

Who Is Behind AIVA?

Saidou Technology was rebranded from Landu Technology (蓝电科技), a subsidiary of Seres Group (赛力斯). The shareholder structure is notable:

  • Chongqing Shaci Zhiyuan — largest shareholder at 34.5%
  • Seres Group — second largest at 32.96%
  • CATL — holds 9.89%

Vehicles will be manufactured at Seres’ Phoenix Factory in Chongqing.

No ByteDance Connection

Ahead of the launch, ByteDance issued a public clarification: the company has no plans to enter the automotive manufacturing business, holds no equity stake in Saidou, and AIVA is not a ByteDance or Doubao (豆包) brand. ByteDance’s Volcano Engine and Doubao do work with automotive partners — but only as technology suppliers providing large language model (LLM) and smart cabin solutions, not as investors or co-owners.

Tech Stack: Doubao AI + DeepRoute.ai

Despite the ownership clarification, AIVA’s first model will come standard with Volcano Engine’s Doubao large language model across all trims — a headline feature that sets it apart from most competitors in the segment. Key capabilities include:

  • Multimodal interaction (voice, vision, gesture)
  • Emotion sensing
  • Contextual scene recommendations
  • Seamless integration with Douyin (TikTok) and Feishu (Lark) ecosystems

For advanced driver assistance (ADAS), AIVA has partnered with DeepRoute.ai (元戎启行) — not Huawei’s XINGHE/Qiankunsystem, as some had speculated.

Target Market and First Model AIVA

AIVA is targeting the ¥100,000–¥200,000 ($13,800–$27,600 USD) family-oriented segment with both pure electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) powertrains. The debut model is a crossover, blending practicality with the sporty design cues visible in the teaser.
