Dongfeng Yipai M8 Makes Global Debut as Huawei-Powered Six-Seat SUV
Dongfeng’s Yipai brand has officially pulled the wraps off its flagship Yipai M8 at a global premiere on May 23, 2026. Positioned as a “Huawei Golden Standard” large six-seater, the mid-size SUV arrives as the centerpiece of a deepened strategic partnership between Dongfeng and Huawei’s Qiankun smart-car division. Every trim level ships with the full Huawei Qiankun technology stack — a claim the brand is calling the “Smart Six-Pack.”

Full Huawei Qiankun stack, no compromises
The M8 is one of the first production vehicles to carry Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 5 Pro driver-assistance system. It pairs an in-cabin Limera laser-vision sensor with a blue auxiliary-drive light system to achieve 360-degree blind-spot-free perception. The setup supports full-route NCA (Navigation-guided Cruise Assist) and covers every parking scenario without requiring a driver to take over.
Inside the cabin, the operating environment runs on HarmonySpace 5.2 — Huawei’s native smart-cockpit OS — delivering fluid voice interaction, multi-screen coordination, and proactive AI services. A 21-speaker HUAWEI SOUND surround system rounds out the sensory experience, promising what the brand describes as a theater-grade acoustic field for every seat.
Three additional Qiankun layers complete the package: Qiankun CarCloud for OTA and data services, Qiankun CarControl for chassis-level intelligence, and a Whale Fin antenna system for always-on connectivity.

Three-meter wheelbase and “six-seat VIP” proportions
The M8 measures 5,020 mm long, 1,975 mm wide, and 1,733 mm tall, with a 3,025 mm wheelbase — exceeding three meters. Dongfeng says its 60.3% wheelbase-to-length ratio is the highest in the segment, translating that proportion into what it calls equal VIP comfort for all six occupants.
Five exterior colors and three interior themes are on offer, with a single-piece continuous daytime running light strip and the smart blue assist-drive indicator adding technological character to the silhouette.
The interior “Golden Comfort Six-Pack” includes: 20-way electrically adjustable business-class front seats, a 16.1-inch 3K center touchscreen plus a 17.3-inch 3K rear-passenger display, a dual-zone smart heating-and-cooling box (operating between -6 °C and 50 °C), a 50-inch AR-HUD, a fresh-air filtration system, and a full-length velvet-lined panoramic roof.

Two powertrains, 300 km or 600 km range
Buyers can choose between a pure-electric and an extended-range version. The extended-range variant delivers 300 km of CLTC electric-only range. The pure-electric model is built on an 800V high-voltage platform with 4C ultra-fast charging architecture and achieves 600 km on the CLTC cycle, covering both urban commuting and long-distance travel without compromise.
Both versions use the Yipai Gold Shield battery pack. Dongfeng backs the entire vehicle — including the powertrain — with a lifetime warranty.
Safety and next steps
The M8’s safety suite centers on the CAS 5.0 all-round collision-avoidance system, a high-rigidity cage body structure, and cabin materials certified to maternal-and-infant health standards.
Pricing has not yet been announced, but the Yipai M8 is scheduled to make its public exhibition debut at the Greater Bay Area Auto Show (Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao) on May 29, 2026, where full commercial details and additional intelligent features are expected to be revealed.
